Hi Everyone! I’m so happy to be guest posting for Lindsey while she’s on vacation! I’m Nicole, a designer and new blogger; you can head over to Nicole Mills Design if you want to know more. Here’s my take on cottage decor, enjoy!

We are so lucky here in Canada to have some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world! With summer starting, our cottage season has just kicked off.   As most of us know, there are few things as relaxing as time spent at a cottage.  Cottage time with family is precious, especially with such busy work lives.  I have many wonderful summer memories from my own family cottage.   Time spent relaxing, swimming, eating, laughing and just ‘being’ is what cottage life is all about.  Every family cottage in Canada has a specific kind of charm that is usually reflected in its decor, special little touches that make each cottage individual. Often inspired by the surroundings and landscapes, cottages have a decor you don’t see in our ‘everyday’ homes.

This charming bedroom is how I remember cottages when I was young; painted floors, brass bed and a country-style quilt.

These special touches are what make cottages so unique and such a huge part of our summertime fun! Hopefully you will get a chance to spend time enjoying some beautiful relaxation of your own.
