Fashion Friday: Finally Spring

Good Morning!

Happy Friday all! It is finally starting to feel like spring so today’s fashion Friday outfit is full of light and airy pieces.

Spring Summer

I am normally not a fan of the jumpsuit (mostly because you have to get half-naked to go to the bathroom) but I think this one is pretty cute.  And no it’s not quite sandal weather here in Toronto but a girl can dream, right?  You can find the details of the pieces here on my Polyvore.

Have a good day!

Last (2) Week’s Loves: January 20th to February 3, 2014

Good Morning!

Since I didn’t get my Last Week’s Loves post completed last week, today I’m sharing my Last Two Week’s Loves!  Right now the blogespehere is full of love and romance with V-day coming up, as well as an overall yearning for spring with flowers, light airy spaces and spring fashions starting to make their way into many posts.  Here are some of my faves from the last 2 weeks:

Love this easy-peasy DIY heart stamp project that Lindsay from Little House Blog posted two weeks ago.  So cute.

Design Sponge featured the lovely Effendi Hotel in Israel in this post. Beautiful historic details and amazing views.

A great round-up of lingerie sets for Valentine’s day posted over at Camille Styles.

When it’s rainy and dreary outside, who doesn’t want a fun colourful umbrella? This girl does. Thankfully, Sharalee at Escapade featured these awesome umbrellas by Marisol last week in this post. Head on over there to find out how these are not JUST beautiful but also have a charitable aspect. Makes me want one even more.

Not like I need any more excuses to eat more sweets, but I like the idea of edible Valentines (shocker!).  And Poppytalk rounded up 10 adorable edible valentine ideas in this post last week.  I mean it saves paper, so it’s better for the environment, right? (Yep, I’m awesome at justifying overeating).

This winter has been brutal.  Bliss blog featured some light and airy pieces from ZARA last week, that got me thinking about intensely yearning for SPRING.  You can check out more of Mrs. French’s fave Zara pieces here.

Michelle from Sweet Suite 10 created this cool DIY bird feeder as a project for her Design Fundamentals course.  It’s such an adorable idea.  She got 17 out of 20, a great mark,  but I think deserved at least 19/20, no?

Spring Online Fashion Round-Up

Good Morning!

This morning I’m going to start with an open letter to Mother Nature:

Dear Cold Heartless Woman,

Why oh why, would you ever choose to send Toronto a winter storm tomorrow?  It’s freakin’ April and we are sick of this weather.  Plus it makes my post today on spring fashion seem at best, at little premature and at worst, utterly depressing. If you didn’t know, the saying goes April showers bring May flowers, not April SNOW showers.  Please make it stop.

Sincerely, Lindsey

OK, now that I have that out of the way, today I have a round-up of some of my spring fashion picks from some of my online go-to stores.  I’m utterly sick of my winter wardrobe and can’t wait to start wearing spring stuff again.

Asos is a great online fashion source with a truly fabulous selection.  They are based in the UK so you have to factor in duty in your pricing (shipping usually pretty cheap) as well as sort out what your UK size is, but it’s worth it for the range of products.

Be still my heart, this might be the cutest dress ever made.

A simple sheer polka-dot blouse.  Lovely and great for work.

Not sure I can pull off this length of skirt, but this digital floral print lovely is still calling my name.

Now this store is a bit pricier but there are some deals you can take advantage of from time to time.  And the selection is pretty great.

Like this fabulous skirt, pretty bright print and a little touch of sparkly goodness.  You can’t go wrong.

Ah, my quest for a great trench continues.  I do enjoy this Club Monaco version, it has a great cut, though I’m not sure about the black trim.

These shoes are making me weak.  That shape, the colour, the heel, oh my!  Funky, yet pretty and just generally rad.

OK, since my office tower sits almost on top of the Eaton Centre, I don’t really need to order online from Zara, I can just go to the store. But that location is so popular (i.e. busy) that sometimes it’s worth ordering to not brave the chaos.  And they have a great selection of reasonably priced basic which aren’t so cheap that they fall apart.

Love the cut, love the colour and the shape of this draped blouse.

Adorable sandals in a fabulous neutral shade.

I definitely need a couple of good basic blazers for spring and this one with the contrasting lapel is a classic but with a little something extra.

I have a love-hate relationship with J.Crew.  They have great basics, great styling and I generally love their stuff.  But I do think the price is high for what you get.  That being said, if you can get the stuff on a good sale, it’s worth it.

It’s hard to find a good pair of shorts but I love the cut of these structured cotton pleated shorts.  Pleats are usually tough for me but I like they fit the model in the photo.

An flat sandal with a pop of colour that I could wear to work?  Yes please!  These Lillian suede low wedges totally fit the bill.

I love J.Crew’s jewelry, they have amazing statement pieces. This fan fringe necklace is…..FAN-freakin’-tastic.

Hmm, now how to finance the purchase all these lovelies…sigh.
